Curiosity Kills the Cat

‘Curiosity Kills the Cat’: the the new exhibition of illustrator and artist Saša Ostoja

Being curious can get you into dangerous situations, but illustrator and artist Saša Ostoja encouraged himself to explore new territories anyway. He put his familiar quill and ink aside and started experimenting with different ways of drawing and coloring, with new printing-techniques and with different sizes.

In creating these new works, Saša Ostoja delved into his ongoing curiosity for nature’s behavior, current ecological and cultural questions and his own experiences. This resulted in showing not only his well-known characters, but also placing them in a new context that leaves the observer with a curious mind.

This exhibition shows a new blueprint as the outcome of a playful development, in which the artist focused on an autonomous rhythm, rather than an external pace.

Sometimes cats do need a dangerous situation in order to make the jump.

The exhibition space De Bouwput is a part of Broedplaats BOUW and AGA LAB and is located in Amsterdam-West.

This project is supported by the AFK (Amsterdam Fund for the Arts).
